Introduction

This itinerary moves through three cities that have shaped modern Italy in different ways. From royal Turin to industrial and creative Milan, and finally to Venice and its lagoon, each stage reveals how history, art, and urban life continue to influence contemporary Italian culture.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Turin

Arrival at Milan Malpensa Airport and private transfer to Turin. 

After check-in, meet your local guide for a first walking tour of the city center. Walk through elegant squares and arcaded streets, discovering Turin’s role as the capital of the House of Savoy, a dynasty that shaped Italian history from the Middle Ages through the unification of Italy.

Day 2: Turin

Meet your expert guide for a deeper exploration of Turin’s historic center. Visit the Royal Palace, once the political heart of the Savoy court, and learn how power, architecture, and urban planning intertwined in the city’s development.  

The afternoon is free to enjoy Turin independently.

Day 3: Venaria Reale and everyday Turin

Travel to Venaria Reale, one of the grand royal residences used by the Savoy kings. Visit the palace and its gardens, designed as both a symbol of power and a place of leisure. 

Return to Turin for lunch in a traditional trattoria. In the afternoon, join your guide for a walk through Turin’s historic cafés, where locals still gather for aperitivo, continuing a social ritual deeply rooted in the city’s culture.  

In the evening, enjoy a private dinner in the historic home of Cavour, connecting political history with contemporary life.

Day 4: Milan

Travel to Milan by high-speed train.  

After check-in and lunch, meet your guide for an introductory walking tour of the city center. Visit the Duomo and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, spaces that reflect Milan’s identity as commercial and cultural crossroads.

Day 5: Artists in Milan

Milan has long attracted artists, thinkers, and innovators. Visit Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper, followed by the Ambrosiana Library, where original drawings reveal Leonardo’s multidisciplinary mind. Continue with works by Caravaggio, whose presence in Milan reflects the city’s artistic energy.  

After lunch, explore the Brera Gallery, home to masterpieces by Mantegna, Caravaggio, and other artists who shaped Italian art while living and working in Milan.

Day 6: Design and Fashion in Milan

This day explores Milan’s transformation from artistic center to capital of design, fashion, and industry. Begin at Palazzo Morando, where the city’s evolution is told through fashion and social history. Continue on foot through the fashion district, discovering the stories of brands, workshops, and craftsmen who still operate behind the scenes of Made in Italy.

Day 7: Venice

Private transfer to the train station and travel to Venice. Upon arrival, private boat transfer to your hotel. After lunch, meet your guide for an introductory walking tour through quieter neighborhoods, reaching Piazza San Marco via narrow streets and canals.

Day 8: Living neighborhoods in Venice

Visit San Marco’s area, and continue into the lesser-known districts of the city. Walk through areas such as the Ghetto, learning about Venice’s multicultural past, or visit the Peggy Guggenheim Collection to explore modern art within a historic context.

Day 9: The Venetian Lagoon

Spend the day exploring the Venetian Lagoon, the fragile natural system that has sustained the city for centuries. Travel by private boat to Murano, visit the Glass Museum and meet artisans who continue the ancient craft of glassmaking.  

After lunch, continue to the Lazzaretti Veneziani, where quarantine was first developed as part of Venice’s commercial and health strategy. Visiting this site supports its preservation, and Fuoritinerario proudly collaborates with the association that protects this unique intersection of archaeology and nature.

Day 10: Departure

Private boat transfer to the train station and high-speed train to Milan for departure.
