Introduction

The itinerary unfolds through experiences that connect history with present-day life. Each stop focuses on how culture is practiced, preserved, and shared, offering insight into Italy’s artistic, spiritual, and social identity through direct encounters.

Day 1: Giardino dei Tarocchi

Arrival and private transfer into the heart of Italy.  

Along the way, stop at the Giardino dei Tarocchi, an open-air park created by Niki de Saint Phalle. Walking among monumental sculptures and symbolic forms offers an unconventional introduction to Italy’s contemporary artistic expression. 

Continue to Bolsena, a quiet lakeside town.

Day 2: Pitigliano

Discover Pitigliano, dramatically perched on a tuff cliff above the valley. With your private guide, explore the historic center and visit the Jewish Ghetto and Synagogue, uncovering centuries of coexistence and layered identity within a compact urban space.

Day 3: Civita di Bagnoregio

Travel north to Civita di Bagnoregio, founded by the Etruscans more than 2500 years ago. Accessible only by foot, the village reveals traces of Roman, Gothic, and Papal rule, suspended between erosion and preservation. 

The day concludes with a visit to a local winery, where tasting becomes a way to connect with the surrounding landscape.

Day 4: Orvieto

Explore Orvieto, rising above the Umbrian valley on volcanic tuff. Visit the extraordinary Cathedral, focusing on Luca Signorelli’s frescoes in the San Brizio Chapel, followed by the Pozzo di San Patrizio, a masterpiece of Renaissance engineering designed to ensure water supply during sieges.

Day 5: Perugia

Begin the day with a private visit to Laboratorio Moretti Caselli, where stained-glass artistry has been handed down through five generations since the 19th century.  

Continue to the Galleria Nazionale dell’Umbria, guided through works by Perugino and Raffaello, including the frescoes of the Collegio del Cambio.  

Lunch at a Michelin-starred restaurant, followed by exclusive access to Perugia’s Music Conservatory for a private organ audition, offering a rare encounter with a historic instrument and musical tradition.

Day 6: Assisi

Travel to Assisi, where spirituality and medieval architecture are inseparable. Visit the Basilica of San Francesco, exploring fresco cycles by Giotto and Cimabue, and descend into the crypt.  

Continue through the town’s streets and hidden piazzas with your private guide. Lunch is served above ancient Roman mosaics, linking different historical layers in one setting.

Day 7: Montefalco

Visit Tenuta di Castelbuono, where wine, art, and architecture converge. Explore The Carapace, the sculptural winery designed by Arnaldo Pomodoro, followed by a private tasting of Sagrantino di Montefalco, produced through organic practices.  

Dinner is accompanied by traditional folk music, connecting sound, territory, and memory.

Day 8: Lake Trasimeno and Cortona

After breakfast, travel toward Lake Trasimeno, stopping in Castiglione del Lago, a fortified town shaped by medieval and imperial history.  

Continue to Cortona, where you check in to a countryside retreat overlooking the Tuscan landscape.

Day 9: Arezzo

Spend the morning exploring Cortona, followed by a private wine tasting in the surrounding countryside. 

In the afternoon, visit Arezzo, then enjoy exclusive access to Sorbello Castle, a private residence founded in the 10th century and still inhabited by the founding family. A light aperitivo offers time to experience the continuity of place and lineage.

Day 10: Montepulciano and Montalcino

Travel through Tuscany’s rolling hills, visiting Montepulciano and its historic underground cellars, followed by Montalcino, home of Brunello.

Day 11: Siena

Discover Siena with a private walking tour, exploring its medieval fabric, Piazza del Campo, and the Duomo. Meet local figures connected to the Palio di Siena, gaining insight into how this centuries-old tradition remains central to the city’s identity.

Day 12: Tuscan countryside

Visit Palazzo Sansedoni, the historic seat of the world’s oldest bank, before leaving the city. 

In the afternoon, continue into the countryside to meet local artisans and visit a contemporary winery that combines architecture, landscape, and production, concluding with a guided tasting.
