Introduction

The journey follows Italy’s everyday table, moving between cities and countryside, where food traditions are part of normal life. Each experience is designed to show how ingredients, places, and people come together through routine gestures rather than special occasions.  

Day 1: Bologna

Arrival in Bologna and transfer to your centrally located hotel. In the evening, enjoy a local dinner in a traditional trattoria, where quality food is part of daily life. This first meal sets the tone for the journey, introducing Emilia-Romagna as Italy’s gastronomic heart.

Day 2: Bologna markets and urban food culture

Meet your local guide for a walk through Bologna’s food markets, where fresh pasta, cured meats, and cheeses are part of the city’s structure. Learn how markets function as social and commercial spaces. 

The afternoon includes a food-focused walking tour of the city, connecting streets, porticos, and local shops.

Day 3: Parma

Travel to Parma, where food production is tied to territory. Visit a ham producer to understand how craftmanship, time, and standards shape products that are part of daily meals across Italy, such as Prosciutto di Parma.  

In the afternoon, take part in a hands-on pasta-making class, learning gestures passed down through generations.

Day 4: From Emilia-Romagna to Florence

Travel south toward Florence, entering Tuscany. After check-in and lunch, enjoy a relaxed walk through the historic center to understand how daily life unfolds among extraordinary architecture.

Day 5: Florence

Discover Florence from a local perspective with a bike tour, moving through neighborhoods and monuments. 

In the afternoon, visit selected museums to provide historical context, followed by a cooking class focused on Tuscan home recipes, connecting food to habits.

Day 6: Chianti

Leave Florence for the Chianti countryside, where the pace naturally slows. Walking or biking through vineyards and olive groves allows you to physically read the landscape and understand how agriculture shaped Tuscan identity. Enjoy a local wine tasting

Day 7: Val d'Orcia

Continue south into the Val d’Orcia, one of Tuscany’s most recognizable agricultural landscapes. Visits to small producers and tastings focus on how land management, seasonality, and tradition remain central to daily life.

Day 8: Rome

Travel to Rome, where the journey unfolds among layers of history. 

In the evening, enjoy a food walk through a historic neighborhood, tasting Roman specialties while learning how food traditions continue to function in the Eternal City.

Day 9: Rome markets and daily rituals

Begin the day with a visit to a local market, understanding how Roman cooking starts from simple ingredients. A Vespa ride through different neighborhoods reveals the city’s rhythm, while a final cooking experience ties together food, history, and daily habits.
