Introduction

The itinerary follows the relationship between food and territory, moving from rural Puglia to coastal Campania. Each stage connects ingredients, landscapes, and social habits, showing how food remains central to daily life across southern Italy.

Day 1: Arrival in Lecce

Arrival in Lecce, in the heart of Salento. 

An evening dinner introduces the local cuisine, where olive oil, vegetables, and simple preparations reflect the agricultural foundation of the region.

Day 2: Lecce

Explore Lecce with a local guide, understanding how the historic center is still actively lived. In the afternoon, visit a local olive oil producer, learning how olive cultivation remains central to both economy and food culture in Salento.

Day 3: Valle d'Itria

Travel north toward the Valle d’Itria, where the landscape changes to small-scale farming and dispersed settlements. Arrival at your countryside accommodation and time to settle into the rural environment.

Day 4: Alberobello

Meet your local guide and visit Alberobello and its Trulli (UNESCO heritage), understanding how these structures reflect agricultural practices and land division. A visit to a masseria introduces how farms functioned as both productive and social centers. Shared meal on site.

Day 5: Martina Franca

Explore Martina Franca, where rural elegance reflects a long-standing agricultural context. Take part in a cooking class focused on seasonal ingredients, connecting recipes to local production.

Day 6: Ostuni

Travel toward the coast, stopping in Polignano a Mare and Ostuni. Experiences such as a boat ride or guided cycling help read the relationship between land and sea, including fishing traditions and coastal agriculture.

Day 7: From Puglia to Sorrento

Travel west toward Campania, reaching Sorrento. Arrival and free time to explore the town and its coastal setting.

Spend the day exploring Sorrento’s citrus groves and small farms, understanding how products such as lemons define local cuisine. A boat experience introduces the maritime dimension of the region.

Take part in a fresh pasta cooking class, focusing on recipes prepared in a domestic and social context rather than a formal one. Afternoon at leisure.

Travel along the Amalfi Coast, where terraces, lemon groves, and small-scale agriculture define the landscape. Visits highlight how production adapted to geography, shaping both food and economy.
