Daniela,
The trip was amazing and truly something we will remember fondly for years to come. We also have realized just how much we enjoy the Italian culture, cuisine, and hospitality.
1) what we liked the most – very difficult as we loved everything, but would have to say our time in Tuscany was amazing. From exploring small towns on our own, to staying at the great hotel/villa and relaxing by the pool. Also Lake Como was tranquil.
2) improvements – I think minimal, only thing I could think of is Positano was a bit stressful from a perspective of how busy it was and getting around town and self-transportation. The night we changed dinner bc our restaurant was closed we had a great meal but our hotel shuttle did not wait for us to complete dinner – luckily the hotel had a car service who was kind enough to take us there. The hotel in Praino, though nice was probably not to the level of the others – I assume this was due to dramatic inc in cost to achieve similar levels. Communication w your team was excellent, and much appreciated (b the train changes at the last minute to dinner reservations, to choppy waters derailing our plans for Capri).
3) special experience – driving in Italy for the first time in Tuscany and specifically having a memorable lunch cooking class at the winery was something my wife and I had never done. The owner was very sweet and nice, and the cook was hilarious and reminded me of an Italian mother in her own kitchen. We made a 4 course meal including pici and tiramisu – all while enjoying local wines from their vineyard. I highly recommend that to all your clients.
My wife and I definitely plan to return to Italy and welcome any recommendations from your team on time of year and what else to explore. I feel that we have just scratched the surface of what Italy has to offer.
Thx
