Days 1-3: Revel in the Grandeur of Turin

Settle into Turin, the capital of Piedmont, with a gourmet welcome dinner. The next day join your guide on the exploration of Italy’s first modern capital, taking in the Po River that flows through the city and striking vistas of majestic villas dwarfed by the Alps. Admire stunning palaces and churches built in Baroque style during the kingdom of the Savoy family, including La Venaria Reale, one of the biggest and most majestic royal palaces, recently renovated and returned to its original splendor. Spend the following day with an Italian lifestyle experience of your choice. Visit the FIAT factory to learn about the production of the legendary Italian car, opt for a Martini and Rossi tasting at the Martini Museum, indulge in the Merenda Reale tradition and the traditional coffee/hot chocolate drink called bicerin or learn about perfume-making at the perfumery of famed maker Laura Tonatto.

Learn to make typical dishes from the Langhe and Roero regions in the scenic hillside setting surrounded by vineyards, then feast on a dinner you’ve created. Experience the famous Barbaresco and Barolo wines during winery visits and tastings at the top producers in the area. Visit the recently opened WIMU (Wine Museum), located in Castello di Barolo. Head out on an excursion dedicated to the area’s handcrafted cheeses by renowned local producers. Enjoy lunch in a typical restaurant, where cheese features as the main ingredient in dishes like the famous gnocchi al castelmagno

Days 6-8: Trek the Striking Scenery of Piedmont

Head out on a trekking excursion through the pretty vineyards and into the hamlets of this enchanting land. Admire the breathtaking scenery and landscapes along the banks of the Tanaro River, in the world-famous Barbaresco crus or across hills and vineyards while exploring the Barolo castles. Visit the Castello di Grinzane Cavour as well as the Enoteca Regionale Piemontese Cavour, a tasting room inside the castle itself, a prestigious showcase for the very best of Piedmontese wines and grappas. Finish your tour back in Turin, the city where the tour started.

  • Trek through breathtaking scenery, taking in vineyard, valley and castle views and set out for winery tours and tastings of famed Barbaresco and Barolo wines
