Lake Como Jewels: Days 1-3

Start this journey landing in Milan, transfer to Lake Como where admire the beautiful Villa Carlotta that sits majestically on the west shore of Lake Como near Tremezzo and VIlla Balbianello, during a boat tour. Travel to MIlan on your way to Lake Maggiore. Visit the city: the Cathedral, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, Piazza Della Scala, The Castello Sforzesco and Santa Maria dell Grazie with the worldwide famous Da Vinci’s “Last Supper”. You’ll have then plenty of time to indulge in an iconic bar for an “aperitivo” or to visit the lively Navigli district or to visit the exclusive boutiques of the best fashion designers in the so-called “quadrilatero della moda fashion district”.

Stunning Lake Maggiore: Day 4-6

Explore the trilogy of Borromean Islands with a private boat and a private guide: Isola Bella with its “Palazzo” with gardens, the proceed to Isola Dei Pescatori with its simple quaint houses lining the cobbled lanes and the fishing boats bobbing along gently in the harbor. Visit Isola Madre with its unique Botanical Garden with the freely living pheasants, white peacocks and parrots and the 18th century Palazzo Borromeo. Explore the Lake and Valleys on board the Lake Maggiore Express and the Centovalli Train, a day trip Departing from Stresa with the Lake Maggiore Express, you will cruise between the many lakeside towns, up to the northern tip of Lake Maggiore: Locarno in Switzerland. Afterwards board the The little Centovalli train, that winds its way slowly up to reach the many bridges and viaducts that span the valleys. Transfer from your hotel on Lake Maggiore to Milan’s airport for a flight to Split.

Adriatic hidden treasures: Days 7-11

Visit Split, the historic inner city, built around the Palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian, a UNESCO World Heritage site. We then see the remnants of Split’s Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter’s Temple, the Peristyle, and the Cathedral. Set sail to the old Dalmatian town Trogir. Trogir is sometimes referred to as “miniature Venice” or a “mini Dubrovnik” because of its ancient walls, or a floating museum town – as it has a masterful architecture including some stunning Venetian palaces. You will discover the pristine nature and waterfalls of the Krka National Park, an area extremely rich with flora and fauna. Enjoy sailing towards Stari Grad on the island of Hvar, The Stari Grad Plain and the old town centre of Stari Grad have been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 2008. A sightseeing tour of Hvar town shows you the first public theatre in Europe and many more historical sites. Afterwards continue to Vis. Cruise towards the Korčula the island’s main settlement and is known as the birthplace of Marco Polo.

Dubrovnik, the pearl of the Adriatic: Days 12-14

Sail for Mljet Island. Mljet National Park features five types of forest, many species of birds, and two deep lakes, Veliko Jezero (Big Lake) and Malo Jezero (Small Lake). This amazing island was supposedly a favorite holiday spot for the Greek hero Ulysses! Sail to Dubrovnik, the “Pearl of the Adriatic”, and a UNESCO World Heritage site. In Dubrovnik, we take a walking tour of the old town and visit the Rector’s Palace and the Franciscan  Monastery with its Pharmacy.
