We had a wonderful trip to Italy – thanks all to you! We really were hoping to get just a taste of Italy on this first trip and the itinerary you chose was perfect for that.
For more specific feedback:
Hotels: we loved all of the hotels but our favorite was probably Residenza Frattina in Rome. The people were so helpful and accommodating and the location was very convenient. They really need a lift for luggage though 🙂 The others were okay.
Tours: every tour guide and private driver we encountered was fantastic! We had wonderful guides in Pompeii (Delores), Rome (Alessandro) and for the boat tour of Capri (Francesco). We also loved every minute of our cooking class with Laura – it was first-class! And our favorite driver was Ivo – he took us down the Amalfi coast and then to the train station in Naples. I’d recommend every one of those tours/guides/drivers over and over again. One thing we would’ve changed is our stop in Formia. I wish I had asked earlier how to make the most of our visit. It was nice to see the town my family came from but we learned later that people usually go to the town hall to look up birth records and maybe see the old residences. We didn’t do any of that…but maybe next time.
Your agency: we loved working with you. The phone was a very nice touch and served us well from time to time. You were very accommodating and responsive and took care of all the little details that can make traveling with such a large group really stressful. So thank you for that! We will be returning to Italy some day (soon, we hope!) and you’ll be the first person we notify when we’re starting to plan.
