Spectacular Magical Italy Experience!
“Ciao Matteo! We cannot thank you enough for orchestrating the most spectacular Italy adventure. We are thankful that we did the research to find the right person, Matteo and his Travel Agency, fuorITinerario, to collaborate with to plan this two week trip.
My husband and I are both from Italian heritage so this trip was extremely important to us…we had dreamed of it for a long time! It meant more than a vacation to us! Right from our first contact with Matteo, we realized that he understood the vision we had for our first journey to Italy. We knew we wanted customized personal experiences within a private tour setting for the most part; the large tour group or bus was not for us. Once we sent him the destinations in Italy and told him that we wanted to hover in special places…hoping to stroll from our hotel through the city or town…to get to know a place, a city, a neighborhood and the people! Matteo got that!
And so we began planning. Throughout the planning process, Matteo provided input, information and suggestions for our requests and questions; we communicated mostly in emails, at times by phone. This was necessary to discuss hotels, tours, transportation with train tickets, drivers, etc. Communication was spot on…he always responded quickly!
The result was that Matteo created a phenomenal and beautiful Itinerary!! This experience exceeded our dream!! It was truly magical! Everything flowed seamlessly from the coordination of drivers to trains to guides to hotels to wine tastings and more!!! Customizing it in this way allowed us to get to talk more to many of the people we interacted with in our activities. This gave us a much more, up close and personal experience!
The all important details….
Each hotel gave us a unique and excellent experience with its location, lovely personality and characteristics. Our rooms were spacious, one hotel more beautiful than the next, some with stunning views!! Breakfast was wonderful and plentiful; included at each one! Roma: Hotel 47, Gaiole: Chianti Castello Di Spaltenna, Lucca: San Luca Palace Hotel and Positano: Hotel Punta Regina. What we loved was that we could walk out our door from all of them to shops, cafes and restaurants and feel connected! We would definitely return to any of these!!
Every private driver was professional, personable and prompt. So happy we chose this option for parts of the trip! The drivers enlightened us with information about Italy, while expressing passion for it and for what they do! A big thank you to Francesco, our driver from Lucca to Florence where we had to catch the train to Naples, the traffic was very challenging, yet he got us there just in time!!
People we will not forget…
At the top of this list, is Georgios, our driver for about 3 days in Tuscany. All our talks in the car, we felt like old friends!
Valeria, our private guide in Ancient Rome, we learned so much!
Dario, our Twilight Trastevere Food Walking Tour…incredible! Love that neighborhood and Dario made the tour such fun!! A must do!!
Ulrich, our private guide for Florence and Academia…so knowledgeable about art and we learned so much about Michelangelo!
Marco Antonio, our private guide for an absolutely gorgeous hike of Chianti. We learned so much history and were able to connect with Verrazano in Greve…
Laura our private guide in Lucca…we just loved Lucca and we found ourselves saying, “We could live here!”
Fabio, our private guide of Pompeii, an expert in Pompeii and anthropology! With his passion, he had us wanting to learn more and more about the wonders of Pompeii!!
The wine tastings we had were wonderful! All the wines were of top quality! Sovestro in Poggio, in San Gimignano…this was small group and Barbara delivered a fabulous experience of wines and foods!! Our lunch following that at Caffe Polizano was remarkable. We were given star treatment with a private lunch overlooking a lovely view. Winery Poggio Antico in Montalcino and Winery Le Macchiole were beautiful and well run operations.
It’s difficult to say which was our favorite location…stand outs for us would be Ancient Rome, Trastevere, Lucca, Positano and the hills and vineyards of Chianti…but we loved it all!
Matteo, as promised, we did eat many, many memorable meals in our travels!! The most memorable? Probably the night we were eating a superb Seafood Stew in da Vincenzo in Positano, when suddenly the staff started ringing bells and began singing, “Volare,” and we all sang along!!
Matteo, our trip was smooth and easy due to the meticulous plan you and your staff provided. Every step of the way was on target! The attention to detail and the level of support we felt throughout the trip helped us to focus on Italy! We had the most rewarding, exciting and magical journey…everything was so perfect, we felt we were on a movie set!
Thank you for including the phone for us to use throughout our trip. Very helpful and a nice touch! And for giving us your personal mobile number in case of anything! Thank you also for calling us while in Italy to check on things! We loved the Welcome gift of Balsamic Vinegar and Olive Oil.
We are extremely grateful to you and your staff for bringing our dream of Italy to life!! We are happy to be home but we miss Italy already! So as we sit here sipping a Chianti wine, or drinking a cup of espresso, or savoring burrata, we dream of being back in Italy.
