“We are a family of four from Brooklyn, New York. My boys are 11 and 9yrs old.
This was our first time to Italy! My plan was to try and see Rome, Amalfi and Tuscany.
I was not sure what I wanted other than pack it in but not be too overwhelmed and to enjoy ourselves!
I explained all of these needs to Matteo in our first email. He had a suggested itinerary with my requests and more!
The accommodations were all fantastic!
Rome, totally central in Ancient Rome .. a young cool neighborhood bordering other cool neighborhoods and walking/short cab to famous sites!
Positano was so beautiful. Set back just a bit in an old palace. Walking just a few minutes to the beach .. through the gorgeous pedestrian streets.
Gaiole in Chianti was incredible! Centered near the village in the middle of vineyards and olive orchards. It was previously a monastery, a castle with hidden modern amenities.
Each place had a different set up for the four of us that kept us all together comfortably in a suite or double room. The breakfasts at all were unique to the city and amazing!
All of our tours and activities, also awesome! I asked Matteo if he thought we were doing too much or if some choices would be not appropriate for the kids.
He assured me that it looked good and we could opt out of anything if I felt uncomfortable. We did it all and it was AWESOME!!!
Also our drivers and guides to and from the hotels/trains and on the tours were all very friendly and knowledgable. We had some great talks.
Having them knowing exactly where to go driving or on the tours made the day so smooth with no worries!
I also thought it was cool that many had worked for Matteo for years and talk fondly of him.
We are all in love with Italy and know there is way more to see. I will for sure be emailing Matteo!
