Each town had something unique

“Dear Daniella:

Greetings.

We returned from our trip last night and I wanted to give you a report of our experiences.

Our two weeks went very smoothly. All of the hotels were great. The tour guides were prompt and friendly and very informative.

Each guide brought forth a unique perspective on the town we were touring. All of the drivers were prompt and courteous.

While in Venice, we experienced Agua Alta which we were happy about because not everyone gets to experience it and the crowds were low.

Our guide Giulia was very flexible because of the rain and did a tour of the Doges Palace instead of the walking tour which we really appreciated seeing from her perspective.

The Murano tour was my request and in retrospect, I would not take or recommend the tour again. The tour was late starting at the shop and we had only 20 minutes after the demonstration which did not allow for seeing any of the Island. It would have been better to just go there on our own to visit the 3 Islands. The Island of Burano was charming and we did have a good amount of time there. We also found Torcello interesting.

Each town had something unique to share and we enjoyed them all. The number of days we stayed in each one seemed appropriate.

It was all wonderful, but if we had to pick two highlights they would be:

1. Laura’s walking tour of Lucca. She has such passion regarding the history of the town, and its food, that after a few hours we wanted to stay for a week.
2. Alessandro’s Food Tour. He is a master communicator and entertainer with a skill that not just anyone could provide. He had boundless energy and concern for everyone the entire day and was a delight. We had an unexpectedly fabulous day with all of the portions of the tour. All of the representatives of the three companies that we encountered appear to have a great relationship with him and were very welcoming.

The phone was returned from Bologna. We appreciated it, as it was a good security for us to have although we did not use it much. It was helpful to follow on the GPS where we were traveling and to get a perspective of the locations of the various towns.
