“Daniela: Gary and I want to thank you for all the help you gave us while planning our trip to Italy.
We truly appreciated your attention to detail, greeting us by phone and contacting us about the problem with the Maggiore express strike. The day of the planned trip we booked the
lake boat with all the island and various town stops with admission to the Palace on Isola Bella. Then, the following day the staff at Hotel Bristol helped us plan a drive that led us to Locarno
then through the mountains and back down to Stresa.
I thought I would give you a review of our accommodations hoping that our input is helpful to you and your business.
Hotel Petronilla was a delight. Small and charming on a quiet street. Our room looked out over the rooftops in the back so it was even quieter. Uta, the manager, was extremely welcoming
and helpful. Michael worked in the evenings and both gave wonderful recommendations for dining realizing we like casual trattorias that locals eat at. Our room was modern with interesting
touches with the art and a chair shaped like a giant baseball glove. Bergamo is delightful and a perfect spot to start our trip from.
Next was Villa Michelangelo. The hotel is lovely with nice common rooms and grounds … We did go down the street to a Pizzeria the second night and that was full of local families … Verona is a beautiful, town and we loved our visit there.
When we drove up to Hotel Touring … we were greeted warmly by the staff and our room again was in the back, with a small terrace overlooking the rooftops, and it was small but clean and updated. They were very helpful with dinner reservations and chose trattorias that were local. Bologna is wonderful and we spent lots of time strolling under the porticoes between side trips.
L’orto Degli Angeli is interesting. The hotel is large with rambling hallways, a pretty garden and sitting areas .… the hotel has plenty of atmosphere and we enjoyed the area and the many towns we visited from our base there.
Stresa was a great finish to our trip. Lake Maggiore is beautiful and the town was small but bustling with people during the day…. We liked the location of Hotel Bristol being just far enough from the activity in town but close enough to be a part of it.
The Crowne Plaza worked out perfectly. The hotel is small and once inside it is quiet and welcoming which is quite unusual for an airport hotel.
Hopefully this is helpful to you. Again, thank you so much for your part in our Italian adventure. We know we will return and will call on you again. I will most certainly recommend you to anyone we know who plans a trip to your wonderful Country.
