“Hello Matteo,
Well, we had a safe trip home, but we miss Italy already! My son (who is 15) tells me he wants to live there and my husband is already thinking about our next trip.
I must tell you that this was our best family trip ever– and we travel quite a bit. We knew that we would love the cities and seaside of Italy, but what we didn’t know was how good your service would be. Every single pick up and delivery from transportation (flights, trains, taxis, water taxis, etc.) was waiting for us and on time. We never had to wait for anyone, and every person involved with your company was polite and friendly.
I will try to give you our feedback about the guides, hotels and some of the attractions we saw.
Guides:
Our guides were fantastic! Each one had a great personality and gave us much more information than we could ever get from a book. Salvatore even gave us his grandmother’s limoncello recipe, but don’t tell anyone! We really liked the personal touch of the guides, who were not just guides to us, but individuals. Each guide wanted to make sure that we were doing what we wanted and took that into account. Really, every guide was super. All of our drivers were helpful with baggage and very safe drivers.
Hotels:
We also liked all of the hotels. My favorite was the Hotel 47 because of its location, views from the restaurant, and lovely, quite rooms. It was located near the Colosseum, and just over a bridge from the restaurant area. It also had the best breakfast of all the hotels, in a beautiful courtyard. Everyone was friendly and helpful there. I also liked the modern interior with the old exterior, but that’s our personal taste. We had absolutely no problems here.
Hotel Pasitea in Positano was lovely and our rooms were large and overlooked the harbor down below. The staff here was also helpful. It was within walking distance of the center of town, but it was a hard walk up if you have older clients. There is a bus shuttle, but we noticed it would often be full to capacity and people would have to wait for the next one. For us, it wasn’t a problem because we walked back up.
The apartment in Florence (Alfani family) was in a fantastic location and very spacious. We ended up getting the original apartment in the back courtyard, and not one with separate beds that we talked about in a later email. That was fine because the front apartments seemed very noisy during the day from the crowds waiting for tickets to see David. Our room at the back was very quiet. There was a little supermarket just below the apartment, so that was very convenient. Also, breakfast at the “OK Bar” was very good.
Hotel Giorgione in Venice was also very nice. The room (junior suite) was very nice and we appreciated that this hotel had 2 separate beds for the kids. There was a nice courtyard with a small pool and it was a great place to rest after walking all day.
Activities:
When we asked our kids what their favorite days were, they both said, “Boat ride to Capri!” Luca was a wonderful, safe captain and he did everything he could to make the trip fun for us. The weather was choppy that day, but it made it more fun for the kids in the boat. We swam off the boat and Luca suggested a few cave areas to swim in that were very memorable. My daughter smiled the entire day!
The other activity that we all enjoyed was the Gladiator School. It might not be so enjoyable for every guest, but for us, we loved the humor of the leaders and the physical activity. It was very hot that day, but the kids came alive when learning to fight with the other family that joined us. For the rest of the trip, my kids were using what they learned, which was sometimes a little problem…! I would suggest this for active families and for children who are a little bit older (maybe older than 7).
We had fun with Fabio doing the cooking class. The space for cooking was a bonus, since we were able to go to his rooftop to finish off the cooking and enjoy the view of Rome from the top floor.
The Amalfi Coast tour was great and we appreciated stopping in a few cities and viewpoints. We especially liked Ravello (even more than Amalfi, which was very crowded when we went).
Anyway, we would be happy to recommend FuorITinerario to family and friends, and we hope to use you again for our next trip to Italy!
Kindly,
Michele and Mark Fegley”
