“Ciao Matteo!
I wanted to let you know we had a great time in Italy. Teresa really enjoyed the trip and all the destinations we visited. We were amazed at the history and beauty in all the places we visited, especially the Basilicas! Tuscany was our favorite for sure! We also really enjoyed the quick visit to Ascoli Piceno and Perugia.
The hotels were fantastic and each had its own special charateristics.
The guides were exceptional and very knowledgeable. Wow.. MarcAntonio and Daniela were especially wonderful and very fun to be with. We are so sorry for cancelling the second day with Marc Antonio, but when I planned the trip with you well before the trip date, I was not sure what Teresa was willing to do. I think it was probably too much at once, and she was very tired. She just wanted a day to relax and do our own thing, at our own pace. I hope you and Marc Antonio understand.
Unfortunately, the weather was not with us for a portion of the trip, but we cannot control the weather! Rome weather was good, and so was Tuscany for the most part, put it seemed to rain in all the other locations! We were really disappointed it rained the last two days on Lake Maggiore, but we made the best of it because there were very few tourists (like us)!
Anyhow, I just wanted to give you an update, as we are adjusting back to US time.
We will definitely write up a good review for you and let you know when.
Arrivederci e grazie ! (I learned a few words over there, but the Italians talk so fast it would take me years to learn Italian! 🙂
Here’s a picture of Fara San Martino, where my grandfather (Antonio DiFillippo) came from, 120 years ago (1897)…. (I couldn’t even see the top of the mountain!)
Take care!
