Introduction

The itinerary moves through different sections of the Dolomites, balancing active experiences with time to recover and absorb the landscape. Each activity is selected not only for its intensity, but for its ability to reveal the mountains from a new perspective.

 

Day 1: Cortina D'Ampezzo

Arrival in Cortina d’Ampezzo and transfer to your mountain hotel. Meet your local guide for a gentle introduction walk through the town, setting Cortina within the broader Alpine and Ladin context.

Day 2: Canyoning and alpine rivers

Today is dedicated to canyoning, exploring the alpine rivers and gorges surrounding Cortina. Accompanied by certified guides, descend natural waterways shaped by erosion, rock, and water. 

On the return, stop for a wine tasting in the surrounding mountain area, offering a contrast between altitude and cultivated landscapes.

Day 3: Paragliding and mountain culture

Experience the Dolomites from above with a paragliding flight, offering panoramic views over peaks, valleys, and forests. 

In the afternoon, visit a local dairy or cheese producer, learning how alpine traditions have adapted to modern production while remaining deeply seasonal.

Day 4: Zip lines and alpine history

Enjoy a day focused on zip-line experiences, moving through forested areas and open valleys suspended between trees and rock faces. 

On the return, stop at a First World War Museum or historic fort, visiting the remains of the old fort built in 1897 to stop the Italian Army, and exploring how these mountains once formed a contested frontier and how history remains embedded in the landscape.

Day 5: Ortisei

Depart from Cortina and travel toward Val Gardena. Along the way, stop at the Museum of Ladin Culture, offering insight into the language, traditions, and identity that define this alpine region. Arrive in Ortisei, with time for a short walk to admire nearby waterfalls and alpine scenery.

Day 6: E-bike in Val Gardena

Enjoy a full day e-bike tour through Val Gardena, following forest trails, alpine pastures, and scenic viewpoints. The route is adapted to your level, balancing effort and enjoyment.

Day 7: From Val Gardena to Trento

Travel south toward Trento, stopping in Bolzano for lunch. Before arrival, enjoy a wine tasting in the Trento region, focusing on mountain viticulture and sparkling wine traditions.

Day 8: Trento

Morning visit to Trento’s historic center, understanding its role as a cultural crossroads between Italy and Central Europe.  

In the afternoon, visit a renowned sparkling wine producer, concluding the journey with a tasting.
