Introduction

The itinerary connects two lake systems through a gradual shift in scale and atmosphere, moving from the openness of Lake Garda to the more contained landscape of Lake Iseo, before continuing toward inland cities shaped by the same geographical context.

Day 1: Lake Garda

Arrival in Milan and private transfer to Gardone Riviera, on the western shore of Lake Garda. Time to settle in and experience the lake at a relaxed pace.

Day 2: Vittoriale degli Italiani

After breakfast, head for a visit to the Vittoriale degli Italiani, home of Gabriele D’Annunzio from 1922 to 1938, set above the lake and structured as a complex reflecting early 20th-century cultural expression. Visit the Priora, home of the poet, as well as the amphitheater and the circular mausoleum. The estate boasts fantastic views of the lake, and it’s the perfect place to understand the mentality of that time.  

After a light lunch, continue the visit to the recently inaugurated Museum of Cars. Then return to the hotel with a stop for a wine tasting and a light aperitivo on the lake.

Day 3: Western Garda

In the morning, meet your guide and drive north on the narrow scenic road built on the edge of the cliff. Follow the road into the rock to reach Tremosine for lunch and enjoy one of the most spectacular views of the lake from Terrazza del Brivido. Continue to Limone sul Garda and Riva del Garda, where the Alpine environment becomes more evident.

Day 4: Sirmione and Desenzano

Travel toward Desenzano del Garda, visiting the Roman Villa and Antiquarium. Continue to Sirmione for a guided walk through its historic peninsula. Optional time at Sirmione’s thermal baths.

Day 5: Brescia

Leave Lake Garda and travel to Brescia, where different historical layers remain visible within the urban fabric. Brescia is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the normal life of Italy, with the Roman ruins, the medieval castles, and the elegant palaces. Today, the wealth of its inhabitants is clear in the shopping streets, where you will find elegant boutiques.  

In the afternoon, continue toward Lake Iseo, entering a more contained and less exposed landscape.

Day 6: Lake Iseo

Enjoy a relaxing morning in the beautiful spa of your stay. In the afternoon, visit Lovere, on the northern shore of Lake Iseo. Walk through the town and along the lakefront, observing its scale and quieter atmosphere compared to larger lakes.

Day 7: Clusone

Explore Clusone, where architecture and landscape intersect. Visit the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, which dominates the town with its dramatic staircase, and the Oratory of the Disciplines, known for its precious frescoes, including the Triumph of Death and Dance of the Dead, the only one in Europe to feature all three themes of Death.

Day 8: Bergamo

Depart Lake Iseo and travel to Bergamo. Visit the upper town, where structure and scale contrast with the lake environments experienced earlier. Then continue to Milan.

Day 9: Milan water systems

Spend the day exploring Milan through the elements that connect it to the lake region. A guided visit focuses on the city’s historic relationship with water systems and trade routes, including the Navigli area, where canals once played a central role in transport and economic development.

Day 10: Milan

A second day is dedicated to Milan’s architectural and cultural evolution. Explore areas where historic structures and contemporary design coexist, highlighting how the city has adapted its industrial past into new urban forms.
