“Hello Matteo, Finally adjusting to our way of life…Missing the food and wine already.

Skott and I have had the most wonderful trip thanks to your help!  Every detail was better than we have ever hoped for. The guides throughout our journey were really excellent.  They picked up on Skott and I and our interested very well.  The gentleman in  Pompeii was wonderful..a beautiful man with wonderful history himself..We also loved the guide for the Vatican (Massimo)  …wonderful dry sense of humor..just terrific..I think that the guides are a key factor when touring and you captured that perfectly.

We loved Sorrento and Positano. Naples not our favorite however the pizza making was a blast..I think the chefs had fun with us also..p.s.  our guide in Naples was also great.  The Bed and Breakfast has a wonderful location on the Mediterranean,..which made me think of our home on the water!  Starting to get homesick….

Friends asked if we had a favorite spot and we really cannot think of just one place.  Each city was very special to us and so uniquely different.

They always say that when you are happy to come home that this was a sign for a perfect vacation.  We did have a perfect vacation.

Thank You and Daniela and thank for our wonderful dinner we had together.  We have many friends who will be emailing you for your help . I will give you a heads up when this occurs.

We would like to thank you for setting up our trip. We enjoyed it very much. Most of our accommodations  were very good, while the other accommodations were great. All of our tours were on time and were very informative. The weather in Italy was fantastic for the most part and the scenery in the lake country, Tuscany and Sicily was unbeatable. Driving was a bit of a challenge, but I was able to adjust to it after a few hours. I knew it would be different then I was use to in the States.

The food was excellent, especially at the restaurants that you sent us to. Rita is still trying to find a good salami and ham since we’ve been back.

I want to thank you for picking Simon as our driver in Sicily. He and Marguerite did a great job of guiding us through Sicily and helping me find out about my one set of grandparents in Casteltermini. Unfortunately we did not have enough time to research for my other grandfather. They were very professional and prompt. I hope to send them our thanks in the near future.

first let me apologize for not getting back to you earlier.  Secondly, I want to thank you for putting together such a memorial and joyous trip.  Everything you suggested was perfect.

Our accommodations in Florence were wonderful and when we returned to Rome the hotel there put us in a nicer room with a balcony which was great. It seemed like the locations for all the hotels were perfectly planned as to sights and interests we had planned. Anne and I still talk about the incredible meal we had in Milan at the Milanese Restaurant along the river. Thank you again!

The hotel in Rapallo was perfectly located to Varese Ligure. We ended up contacting my 2 cousins in Varese whom I haven’t seen in 40 years. One lives in Chiavari and the other in La Spezia but they both return home to Varese on the weekends. That was by far the best part of the trip.

Anne’s mom and friend Noemi said their portion of the tour after we left them off in Milan was great and problem free. They especially enjoyed the hotel in Assisi and have told us we have to go there our next trip.

Anne and I have told all our friends how great you are.   Hopefully we can refer our friends to you.   Once again, thank you for everything. We plan on going back in 2014.

Thank you very  much.  Our trip was wonderful.  The weather was extra hot and humid but I did make it.

We appreciate the planning.  The Roma Limousine Service and especially, Salvatore, was exceptional.

Acquapetra was marvelous.  The food was the best I have ever eaten, the Service was great and you could not get better than Ciro Sannino.  Somewhat isolated when we were there as we did not have a car.  Much better than the Grand Hotel La Pace even thought the food and service was excellent.  Sorry we did not stay more central to Sorrento as I could not walk too much.  The Palace was fine but too humid and difficult for me to walk and I had to cut my time short.

“Matteo, just wanted to provide our feedback on the trip.  Overall, it was wonderful and we would highly recommend the trip to others.

Arrivals into Roma and transfers to Sardinia –airport to cab to boat–  all transfers worked flawlessly!

Corsica

The Hotel de Pecheurs was lovely.  I think we had enough time there and it could be a risk if you have bad weather.  Service was good (front desk especially helpful)– although not as good as service at Las Tronas.

The tour to Bonifacio was excellent– guide and driver were great. The guide adapted the day as she saw we were active and would like to do the walk into town. She had a great personality and great anecdotes. We had a wonderful lunch at a place the recommended by our guide Francesca (Voilier).

Transfer To Sardinia –Boat/Cab — boat worked great.

Sardinia

We loved the hotel!!!  Service was outstanding– setting is beautiful; meals (breakfast, lunches, cocktails , dinner) were also excellent.  The staff are  so nice– service oriented but not overly formal or fussy.

Dinner at Andreini  was amazing– absolutely one of the best meals any of us has every had– they paired local wines with each course.  The staff was very nice and fun– the setting is very interesting too. It was a great kick off for our first night in Sardinia.  As an aside, we had lunch one day at a Tapas restaurant (Mos) owned by the same owners as Andreini and that was a great find too!! It’s right by the hotel.

The Andrea Jensen boat trip was also great! Would highly recommend it.

Neptune’s Grotto was great and it was interesting to see the archeological ruins.

Overall, we had a great time and we really appreciate all that you did.  I would highly recommend your services  and would highly recommend this trip to others

After Matteo listened to my wish list of places and destinations on the Amalfi Coast , he reigned me in to specific areas and destinations to meet all of my expectations.

Our trip included Positano, Sant’ Agata sui Due Golfi at the Don Alfonso Hotel, to our final destination to Amalfi, (where to my surprise when we returned home to the USA that Kim Kardashian had been rooms away from ours for her honeymoon,) so needless to say , the accommodations were beyond first class.

When I contacted Discover your Italy , I immediately felt that Matteo understood my exact needs and wants of this trip. Being an Interior Designer of my own firm, my expectations were extremely high and I expressed this to Matteo. While I didn’t mind spending the money I wanted this to be an experience that I try to give to my own clients. By letting go and allowing Matteo to make suggestions and plan a most incredible trip of a lifetime, I put all my faith in him and was delivered a top notch itinerary that words cannot even begin to express how fantastic our trip was.

While I was celebrating my 40th birthday and a big anniversary with my husband, we wanted it to be personal, private and every attention to detail made. Not only did Matteo exceed every expectation, he delivered it flawlessly and executed it at every destination we met.

The hotels were exquisite, the views breathtaking and stunning. The service was first class and Matteo made sure that he kept in touch at each destination via email and phone calls.

“Hi Daniela,

We had a wonderful time!  Thank you so much for your help coordinating and guiding us with this honeymoon.  It was a wonderful two weeks, and I very much hope that I can come back to visit again sometime.

We did have a safe flight back, though we needed to change our flight schedule due to the hurricane in the US.

While each of our guides and hotels was very good, I would like to take an opportunity to note the exceptional quality of service provided by the following individuals/locations:

1. Federica, our tour guide in Venice, was absolutely wonderful.  Her friendly nature, wealth of knowledge, and recommendations were outstanding.  I’m very happy that we extended the tour with her to do the Doge’s Palace/St. Mark’s as well as the Tour of Hidden Venice.  I wish we had even more time with her, because she was wonderful.  The tour with Federica was one of my wife’s favorite parts of the trip.

2. Matia, our chef for the cooking class in Passignano, was also outstanding.  He was also extremely friendly, very generous with his time and advice, and really gave me some insight as to how to cook well.  The food at the osteria was also some of the very best I have ever tasted.  (we also stopped for lunch earlier in the day before the cooking class)  I’m very happy we chose to do the gourmet cooking class.  It was certainly the right choice.  This may have been my favorite part of the trip.

3. As far as accommodations, I found the quality of the Plaza Hotel Lucchesi to be truly exceptional.  Castello Banfi  il Borgo was also exceptional, but I suppose I expected it to be that way (the castle stay made the Tuscan countryside my wife’s favorite location that we visited - it was absolutely splendid - she already wants to go back).  But I have to say, while my expectations were very high for each location, Hotel Lucchesi exceeded my expectations.  The view from our room was tremendous, the hotel staff was wonderful, the convenience of the location was perfect, and the room was perhaps the cleanest room I have ever stayed in.  The only part of our stay at Hotel Lucchesi that didn’t exceed expectation was breakfast, which was good, but not exceptional.  The castle, though, was also wonderful and the food at the castle restaurant was tremendous.

4. Lastly, I’ll made special note of Tiberio, out guide to Le 5 Terre.  He was a lot of fun and made sure we had a good time. ………………………

Also, a question for you - I have been delighted with the quality of service you have provided.  Your recommendations and coordination made our honeymoon a wonderful one.  I know that travel agents generate business using recommendations and word-of-mouth.  Is there any special place where I could make note of the high quality of service I have received from you?  I would be happy to put in a good word.

you are so thoughtful to check in with us. First, I must tell you that we are have had a fabulous time. We are in love with Italy!

Yes, the trains have been an experience, but we have traveled enough to know that one must be flexible about such things. I do want to let you know that the driver we had in Naples waited for us at the station for 2 hours. They even switched where the trained dropped us to Garibaldi even though the train was supposed to terminate upstairs at Napoli Centrale. I do want to compliment our driver, Michael. He waited for 2 hours and was downstairs at the binario at Garibaldi waiting for us when we arrived after midnight. He was extremely nice and we very much appreciated his effort in waiting on us and finding us.

We also loved our driver/guide who took us down to Positano. His name was Salvatore. He was fabulous and took us to a wonderful Trattoria overlooking Positano. It was a great day.

Really, everything has been fabulous. Simply fabulous.

The driver from Naples to Rome even invited them to his home to meet his wife which they very much enjoyed. They were extremely pleased with the hotels, especially the suite they had in Catania (just wished they had more time there!). They were also very impressed that you called them the first night to ask how everything was going and if they were pleased - great service!

What impressed them the most, however, was their visit to the museum in Anzio and my father being recognized for his service during World War II. It was very moving and emotional for him and my family is very grateful that he had this experience. The Director spent a lot of time with him and Anzio was the only WW II site he visited where it still looked the same, or similar, from his days spent during the war.

I will be very pleased to work with you with other clients in the future, and hope to meet you in person on my next visit to Italy.

My family and I want to thank you for creating an exciting itinerary for us, which included terrific hotels, exciting and unique activities and drivers/guides that were second to none.

Every hotel was classy, and was strategically located in the best part of each town for those seeking to maximize their experience - - far enough away from the action for safety, peace and quiet, but literally steps away from the Trevi Fountain in Rome, St. Mark’s Square in Venice, the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.

Since I was the only male in our six-person group, we asked that you arrange transportation betwee each city, which included lovely drives with in comfortable Mercedes minivans with English-speaking drives, each of whom arrived on time in every instance.

Our activities included sightseeing activities, a cooking class, a bicycle tour, a boat ride around Venice, a visit to a winery, a day in Cinque Terre, a Vespa tour in Rome, and more. Well, the Vespa tour didn’t quite work out due to our lack of experience, which worried us for a few minutes, until you arranged for the tour operator to substitute the two to three hour ride with a ten hour guided trip to Tivoli Gardens and a few other cities outside of Rome. We were never rushed

Rome Pre Cruise Tour, Rome in 2 days

Thank you for arranging our recent trip to Rome.  It was fantastic from beginning to end!  Having your service pick us up at the airport to transport us to our hotel allowed us to have a stress-free introduction to our journey.

The transport to our appointment to see the Vatican Museum was wonderful.  The driver stayed with us to ensure that we had successfully met our guide before leaving us with the guide.  Our guide was extremely interesting and knowledgeable in his explanation of the artifacts and the history in the Vatican Museum. It was obvious that he loved showing us the treasures of his city and country.  We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to both the Museum and Saint Peter’s Basilica thanks to our private guide!

The following day, our driver-guide escorted us as we toured the ancient sites of Rome.  He was a remarkable host and guide as he was extremely knowledgeable of the sites as well as entertaining in his historical and local information.  He brought ancient Rome to life for us.  The tour was well organized and surpassed our expectations for what we would be able to see and learn in such a short span of time.

Thank you for arranging our dinner at the Restaurant in Trastevere.  The food and ambience were superb.  It was exactly what we were hoping for when we asked you to suggest a traditional Italian restaurant for our dinner in Rome.

The transport to our meeting place for the Princess transfer was wonderful.  We were always treated royally whenever we were placed in the services you provided.

I’ve wanted to write but haven’t had computer access until now.  We made it home safely.  I just wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic time!

All of your coordinating and scheduling worked great!  The drivers were also great and on time and helpful, so that was awesome.  It was so nice to arrive in Rome and not have to worry about taxi even as well as Naples - the drivers were easy to find with our names on cards.  The Rome hotel was lovely and the location was so central we had no problems walking to all the major sites.  I would definitely stay there again for location alone.  I have to say the absolute highlight of Rome was the scooter tour. I’m so glad you recommended that!

The train was perfectly fine - I was so worried and it was very easy thanks to your instructions.  I think it would be quite good to use the train for future travel in Italy.

The Hotel in Positano was BEAUTIFUL and with that terrace/balcony/view!  We had such a nice time there - the hotel was perfect as was the staff.  We used the gorgeous infinity pool, sat on the sundeck, had several breakfasts on the patio.  I would stay there again for sure - the setting, amenities, and view were better than any other in Positano, in my opinion.

Anyways, sorry for all the details and super long email. We appreciate your help and feel the trip was a real success because of your efforts.  I would be happy to recommend you to others.

“Ciao Daniella, I am sorry I didn´t write you before… I intended to, but got caught up on the day to day work (back to reality).  Our vacation was GREAT, we really had an unforgettable experience.  I think almost everything was up to our expectations (or exceeded them

Some specific feedback:

The hotel  in Venice was great, very well located (not a great view, though).  María Eugenia, our guide, was just great… really well prepared, and always eager to go “the extra mile”.

In Florence, also a great hotel, superb location.  Luca, our driver to Pisa and Lucca, was Great!!! He is a really nice person, please if you contact him send him our regards.  The vespa trip was one of the highlights of our vacation.

Anacapri: amazing hotel.  Great restaurants too! The boat ride to Amalfi and Positano was a joy (even though the day was not very sunny).  It was a very good decision to stay in Capri and visit the other towns just for the day.  We liked Capri a lot better than the other towns.

Regarding Rome, what can I say… we had an intensive course on Roman culture J… obviously the time we spent in Rome was in a little bit of a rush, because there is so much to see and so little time.  The Hotel was beautiful.

In conclusion: Thanks for everything Daniela, the trip was worth every penny.  We had a great time, and you planned everything to perfection, so it all was amazingly coordinated.  Of course we´ll contact you for our next trip to Italy (but maybe instead of trying to see all the country in two weeks, we will focus on a specific region).
