This 16 day-night itinerary truly takes traveler to discover their own Italy allowing guests to stay active while indulging in the country’s famous food and wine; including hiking on little known trails and biking along beautiful coastlines and through picturesque

This memorable journey begins on the Amalfi Coast with a private boat tour excursion to explore the shorelines of Capri to visit grottoes, swim in the turquoise blue waters and explore the island.

The first true hiking experience begins with a half-day along “The Path of the Gods”, a scenic trail that follows the Amalfi Coast.

You will also have the chance to visit the Archeological site of Pompeii where you will admire some of the most beautiful existing Roman frescos; typical lunch  at the Vesuvio slopes where  you will enjoy tasting of wines and typical local.

In Rome, a  private guide whisks guests through Trastevere, a trendy neighborhood and a local favorite. No trip to Rome would be complete without a visit to the Vatican. There, a professional guide takes guest on an exclusive tour of the Vatican Museums, St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel. The tour concludes at St. Peter’s Basilica (skip the long lines) exploring  the world’s most famous church, designed by Michelangelo.

In Chianti, guests check into their very own castle where they will enjoy a day-long hike through the vineyards in the heart of Tuscany. During lunch, they learn about the Chianti philosophy and wine-making process during a private cellar tour of a beautiful family run estate, while tasting a variety of red wines.

A bike tour of the beautiful medieval village of Lucca begins with an easy ride along the top of the city’s impressive walls providing stunning views of the historic center and surrounding landscape.

From there, guests will spend the entire day exploring Cinque Terre during an unforgettable five mile hike through the region’s vineyard-covered, rocky coastline where each of the five villages cling to the cliffs: the charming seaside town of Monterosso al Mare, which is dotted with colorful, eye-catching homes. Corniglia, the only village not directly on the shore line, to enjoy a typical “slow food” lunch before continuing on through the village of Vernazza. Guests will end up on the romantic “Trail of love” which connects Manarola with Riomaggiore and forms part of the National Park in Cinque Terre.

The final days of this itinerary are spent in the Alpine region of Val d’Aosta in Cogne Valley which is peppered with Gothic Castles all within view of one another. One full-day hike is dedicated to the breathtaking Grand Paradiso National Park, famous for its rare and extraordinary wildlife, which afford great photo opportunities. This active day ends with a rewarding dinner in one restaurant perched on a mountain that offers stunning vistas.

Perhaps saving the best for last, this incredible trip ends with a short hike to the unforgettable Lillaz Waterfalls in the Aosta Valley. The cluster of three magnificent, rocky waterfalls, surrounded by vibrant greenery are a spectacular 150-meter drop of pristine blue and white water.

Like all Fuoritinerario – Discover Your Italy journeys, “Italy Hiking Discovery” can be completely tailored to fit individual fitness levels, taste and style.   Prices for this 16-day/15-night itinerary begin at Euro 6,945 per person.
